Friday, 10th Muharram 61 AH — Plains of Karbala.
The Final Morning
As the sun rose, Ḥusayn (A.S.) declared:
“By Allah, I will never bow to a tyrant.”
He prayed:
“O Allah, You are my reliance in every trial.”
The Martyrs Step Forward
One by one, the companions faced an army of tens of thousands:
- ʿAlī al-Akbar (R.A.)
- Qāsim ibn Ḥasan (R.A.)
- ʿAbdullāh ibn al-Ḥasan
- al-Ḥurr ibn Yazīd
- Abū al-Faḍl al-ʿAbbās (R.A.)
The Infant of Karbala
Ḥusayn raised his baby, ʿAlī Asghar:
“If I am guilty, what is his sin?”
An arrow answered the plea.
The Martyrdom of Ḥusayn (A.S.)
Surrounded and wounded, the grandson of the Prophet ﷺ was martyred upon the burning sands.
Aftermath
- The tents were burned
- The women and children were taken captive
- Lady Zaynab (A.S.) carried the message with strength
The Eternal Message of ʿĀshūrā
- Silence before tyranny is betrayal
- Dignity is greater than survival
- Every day is ʿĀshūrā. Every land is Karbala.
