Islamic Reflection: A Pattern Repeating from History
The Ummah has been warned again and again—yet we keep returning to the same root cause of weakness: disunity and internal fighting.
Qur’an’s Warning
“Do not dispute with one another, lest you lose courage and your strength departs.” (Surah al-Anfāl 8:46)
This verse exposes why our strength leaves: when we fight each other, our courage collapses and our unity breaks.
Prophetic Example: The Brotherhood of Madinah
When the Prophet ﷺ arrived in Madinah:
- He united Aws and Khazraj, who had been fighting for decades.
- He established the Constitution of Madinah—a model of unity and peaceful coexistence.
“The believers are like one body. If one part hurts, the whole body suffers in fever and pain.” (Bukhari, Muslim)
Where is that body today? We bleed, but the rest of the body doesn’t feel it.
History Speaks: Silence Never Saves
When the Ummah stays silent, disasters multiply. The article highlights examples:
- Fall of Baghdad (1258) — Mongols massacred 1M+
- Colonization of India — British “divide & rule”
- Palestine (1948–2024) — Zionist invasion and occupation
- Bosnia (1992–95) — Muslims massacred in Europe
What Should We Do?
- Break the silence — speak up in masājid, homes, and platforms.
- Refuse sectarian labels — to the enemies, we are all Muslim.
- Unite on Tawḥīd and Qur’an — not culture, not nationalism.
- Support with wealth, du‘ā, and voice — every Muslim has a weapon.
- Learn from the Seerah — the Prophet ﷺ built unity from the bottom up.
A Wake-Up Call
“They came for them, and I said nothing. Then they came for me, and no one was left to speak for me.” (Paraphrased)
“How dare we call ourselves the Ummah of Muhammad ﷺ, and yet turn our backs on each other?”
Du‘ā from the Heart
“O Allah, unite our ranks, make us one body under the banner of Your Prophet ﷺ, and grant victory to the oppressed everywhere.”
