Historical Background
After the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah was nearing and peace was temporarily achieved with Quraysh, the Prophet ﷺ began securing the surrounding regions of Madinah. At this time, some hostile tribes near Najd (central Arabia), particularly around Dhul-Qassah, were planning raids on Muslim trade routes.
To protect Madinah and its people, the Prophet ﷺ sent a small strategic detachment under Abu ‘Ubaydah ibn al-Jarrah (RA) — one of the ten promised Paradise and a trusted military commander.

Who Was Abu ‘Ubaydah ibn al-Jarrah (RA)?
One of the earliest Muslims and among the Asharah Mubasharah (Ten promised Jannah). He was called by the Prophet ﷺ: “Amin al-Ummah” — the Trustworthy of this Ummah.
