The Universal Prostration
“Do you not see that to Allah prostrates whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth—the sun, the moon, the stars, the mountains, the trees, the moving creatures, and many among mankind…” (Qur’an 22:18)
1) How Does Their Obedience Show Humility?
- They follow Allah’s laws precisely, without deviation.
- They glorify Him constantly in gratitude and praise.
- Their existence itself is service—complete surrender.
2) Why Is It Harder for Humans?
Unlike the sun or trees, humans are given:
- Free will, intellect, and desire
- Responsibility for their choices
- Challenges from the nafs, Shayṭān, and distractions
This is why a human can rise higher than angels—or fall lower than animals.
3) Aligning with the “Orbit” of Obedience
- Recognize your Creator: reflect on His signs in nature
- Surrender your will: pray regularly and obey sincerely
- Dhikr & gratitude: make remembrance a habit
- Control the nafs: fight laziness and arrogance
- Stay humble: realize everything submits to Him
